About Canadian Artist, Kristy Depper
Ottawa artist Kristy Depper, MFA-Photography, began
painting in 2023, blending her professional artistic training
with a deep exploration of the Canadian wilderness.
Traveling by foot and boat, she captures the joyful essence
of vibrant Canadian landscapes. To honour her Métis heritage, Kristy paints using Beam Paints—sustainable, mica-infused, plastic-free First Nation watercolours. Through bold, intuitive colour layering and these light-catching pigments, her work achieves a dramatic sky, striking colour combinations, and a luminous, joyful depth that invites viewers to connect with the land.
